Securities Lending, Short Selling, and Repurchase Transactions Basics

Scott Budlong will participate in a panel discussion on Securities Lending, Short Selling, and Repurchase Transactions Basics at PLI’s Understanding Financial Products 2024.

Scott’s panel will provide an introductory overview of short sales, repurchase transactions, and their regulation. By participating in the session, attendees will be able to identify what a short sale is; better understand the purpose and description of Rule 105 of Regulation M with respect to short sales; gain insight into repurchase agreements (repos), uses of repos, documentation and regulation; and improve their familiarity with SEC repo clearing proposals and international push for clearing repo.
