Barnes & Thornburg Recognized in AHLA’s 2025 Top Honors; Jackie Papish and John Kelly Appointed to Leadership Roles

Barnes & Thornburg was recognized in AHLA’s 2025 Top Honors, a testament to the firm’s commitment to health law excellence and fostering strong relationships within the AHLA community. The Top Honors program celebrates organizations that demonstrate exceptional leadership in promoting health law education, fostering professional development and strengthening connections within the legal healthcare community. Recipients are chosen based on their significant contributions to AHLA's mission and their dedication to elevating standards across the health law field.

In addition to the firm’s recognition, Jackie Papish, a partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, was appointed Vice Chair of AHLA’s Hospitals and Health Systems Practice Group for a three-year term, beginning July 1, 2025. Jackie has long been regarded as a trusted advisor in the healthcare and life sciences industries, with extensive experience in regulatory compliance, government investigations and litigation.  

John Kelly, partner and chair of the firm’s Healthcare Department and Industry practice, was also appointed to AHLA’s Annual Meeting Planning Committee. John has held a number of leadership positions with the AHLA over the last ten years, including serving as Chair of the AHLA’s Healthcare Fraud and Compliance Forum. John is nationally recognized for his work in healthcare compliance, government investigations, and False Claims Act litigation. This new role allows John to contribute to shaping AHLA’s signature event and further underscores his dedication to advancing health law education.
