I AM...

• A mother of a beautiful, strong-willed toddler who insisted on being born during a blizzard
• On a New York Times crossword streak of daily solves for more than 500 days (a few weeks younger than my daughter)
• Nerdy – I love comic books, science fiction and fantasy and am waiting for the next issue of Saga with bated breath
• Artistic – in college I specialized in drawing and printmaking; some of those works are displayed in my office
• A hat collector of many varieties (vintage and new, beanies and caps, and fascinators)
• A dancing enthusiast who led a floating silent disco group dancing through Jersey City in 2021
• Costeña – my family is from Cartagena, Colombia, and I’ve never lived more than an hour from the ocean
• A soprano who sang opera songs in high school and as part of the Law Revue musical in law school
• Magical – I read tarot cards and have probably too many decks
• Macondo-adjacent – Gabriel Garcia Marquez was a good friend of my grandmother and I’ve visited his house in Cartagena a few times
