Amy Tryon’s experience as drug court manager, as a paralegal and with nonprofits before practicing law helps her see disputes from a unique perspective.  Having seen the litigation system work from all sides, she is able to help strategically guide clients through litigation and dispute resolution toward a solution that best suits their needs.

Amy drafts legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda, as well as written discovery and other relevant documents. She also assists in trial preparation by organizing and preparing exhibits and filings, and communicating with expert witnesses.

Prior to joining the firm full-time, Amy was a summer associate in the Delaware office. She also was a law clerk for the National Center for Youth Law (NCYL), where she analyzed case files in discovery, identifying files that support NCYL’s claims. She also analyzed responses to requests for admission to identify valuable evidence, observed depositions, drafted legal memoranda exploring statutes of limitations of potential legal claims, as well as any applicable equitable tolling doctrines.

She further enhanced her skills as an extern with the Office of General Counsel for the District of Columbia Public Schools, as a summer judicial clerk for the Honorable Andrea L. Rocanelli of the Superior Court of Delaware, and in representing an incarcerated man in his parole application through the Re-Entry Clinic.

Before entering law school, Amy was the drug court manager for the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas. She also was an executive assistant for Newmark Knight Frank (formerly Newmark Grubb Knight Frank), and a paralegal for MG+M The Law Firm (formerly Manion Gaynor & Manning LLP). She gained deep knowledge about the litigation process and learned how to handle large caseloads.

While an undergraduate, Amy studied abroad at Royal Holloway University of London.
