Christopher Greisl

Of Counsel

Chris Greisl is often called upon to be a strategic advisor to mayors and legislative bodies across the State of Indiana. With over a decade of firsthand experience in government and legislative service, Chris applies a deep understanding of the inner workings of government to each engagement. He provides clear, actionable, and deeply valuable solutions to his clients.

Chris’ municipal practice includes advising cities and towns on various matters including economic development and redevelopment, real estate, public procurement, annexation, municipal utilities and public safety. His experience serving as the first city attorney for the city of Fishers uniquely informs his ability to understand his client’s perspectives, firsthand. While city attorney, Chris led a $90 million acquisition of an investor-owned utility and railbanking and preserving the Nickel Plate railroad, leading to its conversion into a recreational trail system across central Indiana. He also created a municipal health department in the midst of the pandemic and managed strategic land acquisitions and sophisticated procurement projects.

Chris represents real estate developers and other for-profit entities seeking public incentives from local government through tax-increment financing, abatement, and other structures.

Chris also advises public school clients on school board structures and policies, public procurement, real estate matters, public financing, employment and labor relations issues, collective bargaining and various student matters. Having served as the Director of Conciliation for the Indiana Education Employment Relations Board and Labor Policy Counsel for the Indiana Department of Education, Chris is uniquely positioned to provide valuable guidance to his school clients.

As a former college athlete and team captain, Chris applies the same disciplines and skills that made him successful on the football field to his legal practice. He is committed to keeping clients informed on critical legal developments, regularly sharing insights through presentations before Accelerate Indiana Municipalities, Indiana Municipal Lawyers Association, Indiana Association of School Business Officials, and the firm’s Annual Workshop for Local Government Attorneys.
