Connor Hinson is an experienced government affairs professional advising Barnes & Thornburg clients on matters relating to federal relations, policies, and procedures.

Connor has experience providing clients with advice and strategy on legislative efforts spanning homeland security, defense, foreign affairs, veteran issues, transportation, telecommunications, and trade portfolios.

Prior to joining the firm, Connor worked as a legislative affairs program analyst working with the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. He facilitated coordination across the U.S. government interagency to ensure legislative priority alignment. Additionally, he was a legislative affairs analyst for the Department of Homeland Security’s Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office, where he provided legislative policy and Congressional engagement strategy support to executive senior leadership.

Connor began his career in federal relations on Capitol Hill, where he served for six years in operational and legislative roles for former Rep. Patrick Tiberi and former Sen. Rob Portman, both of Ohio, and the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. He is also an Army reservist in the Ohio Army National Guard.
