Crystal Kuruvilla defends companies in high-stakes product liability, toxic tort and commercial litigation matters. Crystal calls upon her diverse education and work experience as a registered nurse to bring a unique perspective in solving problems for her clients.
Crystal has deep experience defending clients in virtually all stages of litigation, from pre-suit investigation through trial. She is involved in many aspects of trial preparation, including developing case strategy, drafting motions and summary judgment briefs, preparing expert witnesses for trial, and defending and taking depositions.
Notably, Crystal has also served as trial counsel in the defense of product liability claims and toxic tort claims in asbestos litigation.
As a former registered nurse, Crystal’s experience in the emergency room gives her first-hand insight into the daily operations of a hospital environment and the interactions of healthcare teams. Her drive to advocate for individuals has served her well in her practice as a nurse and in her career as a litigation attorney.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Crystal practiced with two firms in Chicago, where she gained substantial experience in nursing home defense, toxic torts and asbestos litigation.
