David Kelly guides clients through complex legal matters in intellectual property, contracts, antitrust, and regulatory compliance. With experience spanning industries — from life sciences and medical devices to financial services — he brings a well-rounded perspective on both law and business. No matter the issue, David delivers practical, results-oriented solutions that protect what matters most to his clients.

As lead trial counsel, David represents clients in federal district courts nationwide and in contested cases before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He has argued numerous cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. His litigation skills and deep understanding of intellectual property law, support creative, effective client strategies and business solutions.

Beyond litigation, David manages international IP portfolios, overseeing the prosecution, licensing, and enforcement of hundreds of patents and trademarks. He provides strategic freedom-to-operate analyses and conducts IP due diligence, helping clients understand their operational landscape, identify potential IP hurdles, and make informed decisions about product development and market entry.

David is also a committed pro bono attorney, focusing on Atlanta-based nonprofits. In 2021, he secured an inmate’s compassionate release from prison. Outside of his legal practice, David is an avid backpacker, having hiked large sections of the Appalachian Trail. This balance of professional dedication and personal interests informs his approach to law.
