Erik Rickard advises clients on real estate matters that intersect with real estate finance and tax law. A veteran negotiator, Erik structures transactions that leverage tax credits to advance clients’ objectives. Erik represents developers, investors, funds and financial institutions on the debt and equity financing of real estate. His work spans the spectrum of real estate financings, including joint ventures, equity funds and commercial lending.

With decades of experience, Erik represents clients in equity syndication through limited partnerships and limited liability companies of low-income housing, historic rehabilitation and new markets tax credits. He also assists clients in obtaining or providing senior and subordinate financing for affordable housing and other community development projects.

Erik has negotiated and closed transactions totaling over $1 billion involving domestic violence shelters, health and medical centers, food banks, production facilities, neighborhood infrastructures and other projects. He is a frequent speaker at new market tax credit conferences across the country.

Erik approaches each client's needs with a methodical and solutions-oriented mindset, combining technical expertise with practical business judgment. Known for his ability to navigate complexities while maintaining sight of clients' broader objectives, he works collaboratively to structure creative solutions.
