With juris doctor and Master of Public Administration degrees, Hannah Clendening is knowledgeable about the intersection of government and the law and, most importantly, how understanding and working within that framework is better for businesses and communities. As such, she assists clients with a range of regulatory and economic development matters.
Day-to-day, Hannah focuses her practice on public and municipal finance work. She assists with financial matters as bond counsel, negotiates financing agreements, and aids cities, towns and nonprofits in securing necessary funding.
Hannah is creative, adaptable and a clear communicator, which allows her to help her clients appreciate the milestones and goals in the work she and her colleagues do for them.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, after her judicial clerkship for the Hon. Judge John G. Baker, Hannah was a graduate fellow attorney with the Conservation Law Center, Inc., where she advised conservation organizations on wide variety of environmental and conservation issues, including public trust litigation, wetlands and wildlife protection, and nonprofit administration.
During law school, Hannah gained legal skills as a legal intern with the Natural Resources Defense Council, the Southern Environment Law Center and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of Regional Counsel, Region 3, and the Indiana Department of Environment Management.
