As a member of Barnes & Thornburg’s Corporate department, David focuses his practice on the formation, structuring, and ongoing management of private equity funds, hedge funds, venture capital funds, and other sophisticated investment platforms. With a commitment to aligning legal strategies with clients’ long-term business objectives, David collaborates closely with fund sponsors, investment managers, general partners, and various investors to craft bespoke solutions that address the intricacies of fund economics, investor negotiations, and regulatory compliance.
David’s approach is distinguished by his ability to distill multifaceted legal and operational issues into clear, actionable strategies—fostering enduring client partnerships built on trust and results. His extensive experience was honed at two leading international law firms, where he advised prominent asset managers on the formation and management of a diverse range of investment vehicles. He regularly drafted and negotiated key fund documents — including limited partnership agreements, private placement memoranda, and subscription agreements — while advising on governance structures, fee arrangements, and distribution provisions.
