Jessica L. Brennan

Partner, eDiscovery and Knowledge Management Co-Chair
A skilled product liability defense litigator, Jessica Brennan represents manufacturers of prescription pharmaceuticals, medical devices and consumer goods in coordinated state proceedings, multidistrict litigation, class actions and individual matters. Co-chair of the eDiscovery and Knowledge Management group, she directs eDiscovery for mass tort and multidistrict litigation in the U.S. and globally, including in Japan, the European Union and Switzerland.

Jessica serves in various capacities on national coordinating counsel teams and represents multinational clients in U.S. and international product liability litigation. She analyzes key strategic issues to identify expeditious and effective case resolution while managing major project teams of outside counsel, legal personnel, and third-party vendors.

When not coordinating such actions, she serves as liaison or discovery or local counsel. Jessica also has significant experience as a member of national trial teams for cases in federal and state courts throughout the U.S.

A consummate communicator, Jessica is valued for her critical thinking skills and ability to evaluate complex problems to uncover key aspects of a case. Particularly in the many MDLs Jessica is involved in, she assesses the fact-specific data from both the litigation and business perspective so the overall outcome is favorable to the client. These cases involve defending clients against strict product liability, negligence, and breach of warranty claims, as well as wrongful death actions involving prescription medications, over-the-counter products, orthopedic implants and other products in cross-jurisdictional mass tort proceedings.

Jessica’s e-discovery expertise has become an important part of her practice and of such sophisticated product liability litigation. She seeks out effective defense strategies as they relate to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) standards, data privacy laws, and product regulatory compliance as they apply to U.S. litigation and litigation outside the U.S.
