John McGeever offers a well-rounded view on unclaimed property compliance coupled with extensive consulting and public and private accounting experience. John is a skilled team leader who encourages constant improvement and innovation.

John has a deep understanding of unclaimed property laws and regulations, coupled with years of prior experience assisting state agencies and business clients with compliance issues. He helps clients manage their unclaimed property exposure and mitigate risks related to audits and compliance.

He has wide-ranging experience as a consultant, including assisting clients with their voluntary disclosure submissions, responding to informal state outreach programs, performing risk assessments, and developing and implementing unclaimed property policies and procedures.

Before joining the firm, John was a director in the abandoned and unclaimed property practice at a global tax services and software provider. In this role, John oversaw a team that provided unclaimed property consulting services, whether the client was under a multistate audit, participating in state voluntary disclosure agreement programs or annual compliance.

Additionally, John was a managing director at a leading unclaimed property audit firm overseeing numerous multistate unclaimed property examinations simultaneously and was a senior manager at a regulatory consulting group.

Outside of work, John enjoys spending time with his wife and four children and playing an occasional round of golf.
