Joe Wendt is a Chambers-recognized trial lawyer and commercial litigator, representing clients in disputed business matters across the country.
Joe handles complex matters for clients of all sizes, focusing on problem-solving. Sometimes the best solution is a trial, other times it is a negotiated resolution. Joe has the experience, judgment, and skill to drive the correct client result, in any setting.
Among his successes, Joe recently obtained a defense jury verdict for a global engine manufacturer in $90 million contract dispute in the Southern District of New York, dismissal of a national class action in the Eastern District of Michigan alleging breach of warranty and violation of multiple states’ consumer protection laws, a favorable judgment in a two-week wrongful death bench trial in Washington state, and summary judgment in Cook County, Illinois, in a case alleging elder abuse.
Joe has authored briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and has argued before the Indiana Supreme Court and Indiana Court of Appeals.
