Keith Brodie navigates traditional labor and employment law matters across Michigan and nationwide. With over 30 years of experience, Keith brings skilled and proven problem-solving to negotiations, counseling, and litigation. Keith’s careful planning, diligent reasoning, pragmatism, preparation, and focus on execution are brought to every matter he handles. Always prioritizing key client objectives and the bottom line, Keith is dedicated to serving as a sought-after resource and trusted adviser to his clients.

Keith negotiates collective bargaining agreements across major industries and unions, with extensive experience in the manufacturing and healthcare sectors. Over the past two decades, he has regularly bargained with major healthcare unions such a the Michigan Nurses Association (MNA), SEIU Healthcare Michigan, and large industry unions such as the UAN, the United Steelworkers, and the Teamsters. Keith understands the often delicate and critical balance between developing leverage, necessary compromise, and hard bargaining. He believes in developing rapport and consensus while vigorously advocating for and achieving clients’ core employee and labor relations goals. 

Keith’s labor and employment law practice covers a broad spectrum of legal disciplines, including deep experience in unfair labor practice defense and developing strategic labor plans for operational changes, including divestitures and plant closings. He also advises on and defends against discrimination charges, reductions in force, FLSA, FMLA, and disability claims. In everything he does, Keith remains focused on responsive client service and obtaining key client objectives.

Beyond his client work, Keith contributes to the legal community as an editor for key ABA/BNA publications on employment law topics. Keith’s involvement keeps him at the forefront of legal developments directly benefiting his clients with cutting-edge strategies in the ever-evolving landscape of labor and employment law.
