Madeline F. Buxton

Associate
Madeline Buxton is a go-getter who dedicates the time necessary to understand clients’ corporate transactional needs and help them in their business pursuits.

Before joining Barnes & Thornburg full-time, Madeline was a summer associate and law clerk with the firm, where she learned the ins and outs of advising and representing corporate entities in their business pursuits.

While in law school, she was a law clerk with the University of Minnesota Office of General Counsel. In that role, she researched and analyzed legal issues involving contract enforceability, university patents and employment discrimination claims, and she drafted memoranda and other legal documentation.

While attending Colorado State University, Madeline was a public relations intern at a nonprofit and a campus beat reporter for her college newspaper where she conducted interviews, generated leads, and created written content.

Outside of her studies, she was a member and team captain of the university’s Division I women’s tennis team.

Like many law students, I was looking for a summer associate position that allowed me to work on complex matters, build relationships in the legal community, and grow both professionally and personally. Barnes & Thornburg provided all that and more. As a summer associate, I gained valuable practical experience, received substantive feedback on my work, and built lasting relationships both in and outside the office. I could not be more excited to start my legal career and continue to grow at Barnes & Thornburg.
