A motivated litigator, Mariah Whitner is driven and proactive when it comes to defending clients embroiled in disputes and meeting their business goals. Highly skilled in researching, she can identify and evaluate applicable case precedent and guidance through analysis of case law, public records and statutes.
Mariah drafts briefs, complaints and memoranda; assists with depositions and witness preparation; and develops jury voir dire questions on topics related to complex antitrust, commercial litigation, product liability, and securities regulation, to name a few. She also provides support in managing class action and consumer protection cases.
Additionally, she facilitates timely and steady case progression by regularly communicating with clients.
Prior to joining the firm full-time, Mariah was a summer associate with Barnes & Thornburg and worked as a legal intern for another Chicago firm. She drafted memos concerning the applicability of the EU General Data Protection Regulation, participated in due diligence meetings and drafted findings reports, researched and analyzed the appropriate negligence standard for trade errors, and prepared Dutch marketing registration applications for non‐EU alternative investment funds.
Mariah worked for A&E Television Networks before attending law school and gained compliance experience.
