Mel’s practice focuses on supporting clients through all stages of litigation, from early case assessment to motion practice and trial preparation. She is skilled in managing discovery, conducting in-depth legal research, and drafting briefs that translate technical or data-heavy issues into compelling arguments. Her ability to bridge data analysis with legal reasoning sets her apart, particularly in matters where evidence is intricate or voluminous.
Before joining Barnes & Thornburg, Mel worked for seven years as a data analyst/data engineer, where she honed her ability to identify trends, synthesize large data sets, and deliver actionable insights. She later spent two years as a law clerk, deepening her litigation experience and refining her advocacy skills. Mel also served as a summer associate with Barnes & Thornburg, giving her an early opportunity to collaborate with the firm’s attorneys and gain hands-on experience in client matters.
