Resourceful, driven, and diligent, Mikaela Heck strives to find comprehensive solutions for her corporate clients’ unique needs and goals. Having received her law degrees concurrently in both the United States and Canada, gaining experience on both sides of the border, Mikaela is poised to aid clients in both domestic and cross-border matters. 

Mikaela represents domestic and international corporate clients as they work through the intricate details related to transactional matters.

As a summer associate with Barnes & Thornburg prior to joining the firm full time, Mikaela conducted legal research, including comparative international research, related to corporate, intellectual property, employment, bankruptcy, and litigation matters. She also assisted in preparing closing documents and due diligence reports for mergers and acquisitions, and helped draft clauses and provisions for various contracts.

Mikaela also gained experience during law school as a legal extern for Oakland University’s NCAA Compliance Office, where she performed duties related to NCAA bylaws, legislation, and official interpretations.

Prior to law school, Mikaela spent three summers interning with the Royal Bank of Canada in Toronto.
