As the firm’s chief marketing and business development officer, Trish Lilley leads the firm’s client and alumni relations programs, marketing initiatives, and business development efforts. In this role, she conceptualizes and drives strategies designed to influence and enhance the client experience at Barnes & Thornburg while also promoting the firm’s award-winning services, practices, and products in key markets and industries. Trish works closely with firm leadership across practices and geographies and is particularly focused on client service, feedback and retention.
An internationally recognized advocate for innovation in leveraging digital media, technology, and data to enhance visibility and client relationships, Trish enjoys conceptualizing and executing innovative, tech-driven content marketing strategies.
Her work has garnered awards from U.S. and global organizations, including the Content Marketing Institute, Web Marketing Association, and the Managing Partners Forum. Trish’s work in conceptualizing and launching a client-facing interactive microsite featuring a first-person point-of-view exploratory experience was lauded by The American Lawyer, which awarded it “Innovative Firm of the Year” recognition.
An active member of the global legal community, Trish is a Fellow in the global College of Law Practice Management, placing her in a cohort of fewer than 300 professionals deemed by industry peers to “have significantly contributed to, and enhanced, law practice management.” She sits on the board of directors of Access Justice Brooklyn and chairs its DEI committee. She has held numerous leadership roles with the Legal Marketing Association, most recently serving on the international board of directors. A former bar association executive, Trish began her career as a journalist covering federal civil and criminal courts for both legal and general interest news outlets.
Trish frequently presents at industry conferences on a range of topics, including personal branding, data-driven marketing strategies, digital innovation, and client service. She is also an active community volunteer, devoting her time to the Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey and the She Has a Name mission in Camden, New Jersey.
