Barnes & Thornburg Wins ‘Products Liability and Mass Tort Litigation Group of the Year’ and Recognized in Four Other Categories at New Jersey Legal Awards

Barnes & Thornburg was awarded “Litigation Department of the Year” for Products Liability and Mass Torts by The New Jersey Law Journal at the New Jersey Legal Awards. The award recognizes the firm’s achievements in managing complex, high-stakes litigation for the world’s largest companies.

In addition to that award, Thomas Zelante was among the winners of the New Leaders of the Bar, a recognition celebrating lawyers under age 40 who have excelled in the courtroom, in client service and cultivation, service to bar associations and/or pro bono work or community service.

The firm was also named a finalist in three other categories:

• Law Firm of the Year – Recognition of Barnes & Thornburg’s broad spectrum of achievements in the past year and its depth of talent.
• Best Mentor: Kaitlyn Stone – Recognition of Stone’s invaluable mentorship to associates and her ability to make them better at their job.
• Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year: Michelle Nicholson – Recognition of Nicholson’s accomplishments and impact on the community through her pro bono work.

Zogby, co-chair of the firm’s Trial and Global Disputes practice and partner-in-charge of the firm’s New Jersey office, told The New Jersey Law Journal: “Our product liability and mass tort department has fundamentally reshaped how global large-scale, multijurisdictional litigation is managed. The New Jersey Legal Awards celebrate outstanding achievements and contributions within the state's legal community, recognizing firms and attorneys who demonstrate excellence, leadership, and commitment to the profession. Zogby won Managing Partner of the Year at the 2024 New Jersey Legal Awards.
